You are an expert in IT and cloud with a focus on container technologies and distributed architectures? You have many years of experience in the development of mission-critical software solutions and have already migrated (legacy) systems to the cloud? Your software development skills are your greatest asset and you are constantly learning? Your demand on yourself and your colleagues is always high?

Excellent - The Techspace team is looking forward to you! As a Principal Cloud Engineer (m/f/x), you will develop cloud-native solutions for us and our customers. With your hands-on mentality, you will be an essential part of a high-performing team that develops customized and highly efficient solutions. Your field of activity includes in particular:

Designing and developing cloud-based services and hybrid cloud/-on-prem services.
Contributing to and leading a high-performing development team.
Responsibility for software quality and for meeting non-functional requirements.
Ensuring IT security of our SaaS solutions (especially focusing on finding and fixing security vulnerabilities in our own code as well as in 3rd party libraries).
Evaluating new technologies and cloud-based concepts or architectures.
Creation and tuning of concepts based on customer requirements and architecture specifications.
Further development of processes and tools for developing cloud solutions.
Training and mentoring our High Potentials.

You should definitely be familiar with these technologies, frameworks, patterns or tools

Java / JavaEE / JakartaEE and/or Spring
Eclipse Microprofile
Quarkus
GraalVM / SubstrateVM
JVM performance tuning and profiling skills (Hotspot or OpenJ9)
Java Flight Recorder or similar tools
Kubernetes
Helm / Kustomize
AWS
GitHub
IntelliJ
Container Engines (e.x. Docker or Podman)

This job is for you if you:

have more than 10 years of experience in the development of mission-critical software
are self-confident, reflective, ambitious, motivated and able to work under pressure
love a challenge and want to be rewarded for your efforts
want to lead a strong team and develop yourself both professionally/technically and personally
are passionate about your job and want to make a difference
want to get the last 2% out of your software
you just love it when the RSS memory footprint of your Java app is 10MB
if your minimum is a T-profile (wide and deep) and you want to understand everything down to the last detail
if you can act calmly and rationally even in critical phases and you stand by your opinion
